Account Deletion - Forensic Science App

At Forensic Science App (a Nyayik Vigyan initiative), we respect your right to control your data. This page explains how to delete your account and what happens to your data.

Option 1: Delete directly in the app (fastest)

You can permanently delete your account yourself, right from the app:

  1. Open the Forensic Science App and sign in.
  2. Go to the Profile tab.
  3. Scroll down and tap "Delete My Account".
  4. Select a reason (optional) and confirm.

Your account and personal data are deleted immediately. You will be signed out automatically once it is done. For your security, you may be asked to sign in again before deleting if your session is old.

Option 2: Request deletion by email

If you are unable to access the app, you can request deletion by email:

  1. Send an email to nyayikvigyan4n6@gmail.com with the subject "Account Deletion Request".
  2. Include your registered email address (and reason, if you wish).
  3. We will process your request within 7 business days.
  4. You will receive a confirmation email once it is completed.

What Data Gets Deleted?

When your account is deleted, we remove:

  1. Your profile information (name, designation, institution, photo)
  2. Your email address and authentication data
  3. Your saved bookmarks and course progress
  4. Your app activity history linked to your account

Data Retention - After account deletion:

  1. Personal information is deleted immediately when you delete your account in the app.
  2. Backup copies are removed within 30 days.
  3. Anonymous, aggregated analytics data (which cannot identify you) may be retained for app improvement.

Available Account Actions

Within the app, you can currently:

  1. Update your profile information
  2. Change your password
  3. Log out from the app
  4. Delete your account (Profile tab - "Delete My Account")
  5. Request account deletion via email
