The Intelligence Bureau (IB) under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has officially released the Intelligence Bureau Recruitment 2025 notification for 394 Junior Intelligence Officer (JIO) Grade-II/Technical posts. Interested candidates can now apply online through the official portal. The last date to submit applications is September 14, 2025, up to 11:59 PM.
Intelligence Bureau Recruitment 2025: Vacancy Details
The Junior Intelligence Officer positions come under the Level 4 pay scale, offering a salary between ₹25,500 and ₹81,100, in addition to central government allowances.
The category-wise distribution of vacancies is as follows:
Unreserved (UR): 157
Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 32
Other Backwards Classes (OBC): 117
Scheduled Caste (SC): 60
Scheduled Tribe (ST): 28
Eligibility Criteria for IB Junior Intelligence Officer Recruitment 2025
Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
Age Limit: Candidates should be between 18 and 27 years. Age relaxation of up to 5 years is available for SC, ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen, and other reserved categories as per MHA norms.
Educational Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or a Bachelor’s in Computer Applications (BCA) from a recognized university.
OR Diploma in Electronics, Electronics & Communication, IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent fields.
Note: As per the official notification, these posts are not suitable for PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities), and such candidates are advised not to apply.
Selection Process for IB JIO Grade-II Recruitment 2025
The recruitment will be conducted in three phases:
Tier I (Online Exam): Objective-type test of 2 hours carrying 100 marks. 75% subject-specific questions + 25% general mental ability.
Tier II (Skill/Practical Test): Practical evaluation carrying 30 marks.
Tier III (Interview/Personality Test): Final stage for shortlisted candidates.
Final merit will be prepared based on cumulative performance in all three stages.
